Western red cedar is naturally resistant to decay and insect damage, so no chemical treatment is required. Its superior durability, aesthetic beauty, and dimensional stability make it an excellent choice for exterior applications in residential or commercial projects. Western red cedar wood is fairly lightweight, moderately soft, and low in strength, it produces thujaplicin, a defense mechanism against rot and fungus. This natural fungicide enables even a dead tree to be a valuable part of the forest. Properly finished, western red cedar products will last for decades, even in harsh environments.

Natural Color Variations: Western Red Cedar, in its natural unfinished state, has a richly textured tactile grain combined with a glowing palette of warm, mellow tones ranging from light amber to deep honey brown. Due to the variation of color and knots in natural wood products, each piece of lumber is unique. Because of this, finished products may differ visually from the image used to represent this product.

Return Policy

If you receive a defective item Homestead CedarWorks will, at its discretion and expense replace any parts that are found defective within 30 days of purchase. Please send us an email at [email protected] with supporting pictures of the defective item or part. Our 30-day warranty covers the replacement of any defective item or part, it does not cover a refund of the purchase price for a return. In the event, the customer decides to cancel their order for a refund the customer will be responsible for returning the item to us and paying for shipping and necessary restocking fees.
